Hybrid Meetings & Events are on-site events that have some presenters, audience and/or interpreters located remotely. In some cases the interpreters are located in an “Interpreting Hub”.

They are expected to be the norm as we move out of the completely virtual meeting world that developed with the onset of the pandemic have to cope with safe on-site meetings.

The hybrid approach can be the most complex to set up, involving many different types of combined on-site and remote technology. It requires true expertise for success.

An Interpreting Hub is a central location with booths for conference interpreters, either permanent or temporary, to serve a meeting or event that is in another location. The event can be down the hall, across the street or on the opposite side of the world and can be hybrid for the attendees and speakers or completely remote. A Hub can consist of conventional interpreting equipment or software solutions combined with Remote Interpreting (RSI) Platforms or other audio and video distribution approaches.

We first started using interpretation hubs in the early 1990s, to meet unique client needs and have provided consulting regarding building permanent hubs to top institutions.
