Our Leadership & TEAM
DS-Interpretation, Inc. is a small business C-Corporation, based in the San Francisco Bay Area and the Washington, DC Metro area, with a global reach. CEO Naomi Bowman is renowned for her knowledge of new technology effects on the language industry and is a public speaker. She earned her M.A. degree in International Relations in the U.K., and has lived in 5 different countries. The company is overseen by a board of directors and advisors comprised of top language industry leaders. Working with innovative startups focused on meeting true market needs successfully and effectively, DS-Interpretation, Inc. leverages its strategic partnerships to help clients grow by connecting them with their global audience. Our history
Bill Wood (deceased 2019) founded the Company in 1972 after helping patent an early version of an FM receiver designed for educational and language lab use. Bill was known as an audio pioneer and held what may be the first patent in the RSI field for key switching technology and implementation of remote simultaneous in hospital settings in 1995. The New England Journal of Medicine Published an article he co-authored on the topic in 1996. Read the article here. He was awarded the prestigious Interpret America Lifetime Service Award for outstanding contributions to the field of interpretation in 2012.
